Attributive forms

Als je zegt 'de slanke man' of 'een slanke vrouw', gebruik je 'slanke' vóór het zelfstandig naamwoord.

With definite article: de slanke; "De slanke man loopt snel."
With indefinite article: een slanke; "Ik zie een slanke vrouw in het park."
Without article: slank; "Hij is slank."

Predicative form

Na 'is' of 'wordt' gebruik je altijd 'slank': Hij is slank.

Comparative

Als je twee mensen of dingen vergelijkt, gebruik je 'slanker': De man is slanker dan de vrouw.

Base form: slanker; "Mijn broer is slanker dan ik."
With "dan": slanker; "Deze slanker is slanker dan de andere."

Superlative

Als je zegt wie de meeste slank is in een groep, gebruik je 'slankste': Zij is de slankste in de klas.
